SBC and Onnuri Gift Certificate Sign Agreement to Combat Fraudulent Distribution
Establishment of Monitoring System with Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute
Strengthening Suspicious Transaction Detection and Fraudulent Payment Verification
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small Enterprise and Market Service announced on the 27th that it will sign a business agreement with the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute to establish a response system against the illegal distribution of Onnuri gift certificates.
This business agreement was prepared as a preemptive measure against the illegal distribution of gift certificates, such as receiving Onnuri gift certificates without selling goods at traditional markets and shopping districts or collecting discounted gift certificates for illegal exchange.
The business agreement will be conducted non-face-to-face through an online video conference in the meeting rooms of each institution this afternoon. This is a measure to comply with social distancing policies due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The main contents of the agreement include ▲suspicious transaction detection ▲analysis of illegal distribution patterns ▲real-time payment information management ▲strengthening verification of illegal payments ▲restructuring of merchant management systems, and the establishment of a monitoring system to prevent illegal distribution.
Through the establishment of the monitoring system, the Small Enterprise and Market Service plans to collect various information on Onnuri gift certificates and analyze transaction information. It intends to proactively respond to illegal distribution of gift certificates by preemptively blocking suspicious or illegal transactions that differ from usual patterns. Next year, it plans to link various external information such as population, commercial district, and credit card information, expand the scope of analysis, and advance the system.
