Sinkhole with a Diameter of 15m Occurs on Guri Road
On the afternoon of the 26th, a large sinkhole occurred on the road in front of an apartment complex near Jangja 2 Intersection, Gyomun-dong, Guri-si, Gyeonggi Province. The sinkhole is circular with a diameter of approximately 15 meters and a depth of about 4 meters. The location is within the construction section of the extension of Subway Line 8, Byeollae Line, where work is being carried out about 30 meters underground.

There were no reported casualties, but Guri City guided residents to evacuate by broadcasting announcements in preparation for any emergencies and confirmed that there were no safety issues with the buildings. Residents were allowed to return home around 6:30 PM. Guri City is investigating the possibility that this sinkhole is related to the subway construction.
