At the opening ceremony of the '2020 Online Joint Financial Sector Recruitment Fair' held at the IBK Financial Tower auditorium in Jung-gu, Seoul, Chairman Eun said, "Given the rapidly changing financial environment and high uncertainty, now is a time when proactive investment in human resources is more necessary than ever."
Chairman Eun noted, "The recent job conditions in the financial sector are challenging, with traditional jobs decreasing due to branch reductions caused by digitalization and non-face-to-face services," but added, "Nevertheless, the financial industry remains one of the fields with great potential for creating new jobs."
He continued, "I hope that companies will not be complacent with existing work practices but continue innovative efforts such as developing new services," and predicted, "Such efforts will lead to a virtuous cycle of new job creation."
Chairman Eun also stated, "It seems inevitable that the type of talent required by the financial sector will change," and emphasized, "A company's future competitiveness depends on how much diversity among its members is secured."
This recruitment fair is being held online for three days starting from the 26th due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Fifty-three participating companies from banks, securities, insurance, card companies, and financial public enterprises are conducting live-streamed briefings and talk concerts, and operating online booths with job seeker consultation boards for each company.
