Gyeonggi Education Research Institute, Director Lee Sugwang Reappointed
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Soo-kwang (56), the current director of the Gyeonggi-do Education Research Institute, has been reappointed.
The Gyeonggi Education Research Institute announced on the 26th that Lee was appointed as the 5th director of the Gyeonggi Education Research Institute, starting September 1.
Director Lee stated, "To become a research institution leading educational transformation, I will focus on strengthening a 'philosophy-based innovative research culture' that can reinterpret and prospect education, and work towards a 'transition to a better educational system' suitable for the era of normalized disasters."
Director Lee earned a Ph.D. in Educational Sociology from Kangwon National University and has practiced new school models in public and alternative schools.
During his two-year tenure as director of the Gyeonggi Education Research Institute, Director Lee has been recognized for his efforts in leading research on educational system transformation and innovative education, as well as establishing cooperative systems between the Gyeonggi Education Research Institute and local communities.
