Iksan City Council Shortens Schedule of 230th Extraordinary Session... COVID-19 Response
From the 2nd to the 8th of next month, schedule adjusted from the 9th to the 7th as originally planned
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] The Council Steering Committee of Iksan City Council, Jeonbuk (Chairman Kim Su-yeon), has shortened and finalized the schedule of the 230th extraordinary session to support the executive branch that is making every effort to respond to COVID-19.
On the 25th, the Council Steering Committee announced that, with the social distancing level raised to Level 2, the schedule of the 230th extraordinary session, originally set for 9 days from the 31st, has been adjusted to 7 days from the 2nd to the 8th of next month to allow administrative power to focus on COVID-19 prevention and rapid on-site response.
In addition, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, all council members and attending staff were urged to thoroughly comply with quarantine measures such as wearing masks during the extraordinary session.
The main schedule of the 230th extraordinary session includes the opening ceremony and the 1st plenary session at 10 a.m. on the 2nd of next month to handle basic agenda items, committee activities for five days from the 3rd to the 7th, and the final approval of agenda items reported by each standing committee through the 2nd plenary session on the 8th.

Kim Su-yeon, Chairman of the Council Steering Committee, said, “Although this is a difficult and challenging time due to the COVID-19 crisis, we will do our best at the council level to overcome it together,” and added, “We will operate the Council Steering Committee more effectively so that the city council can devote itself to productive and efficient legislative activities.”
