[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City will conduct the "2020 Busan Social Survey" for 21 days from the 26th to September 15th to utilize it as policy data for regional development and welfare policy promotion.
The Busan Social Survey, which has been conducted since the first survey in 1996, is now in its 25th iteration this year, and the collected data is used to establish policies aimed at improving citizens' living standards.
This survey targets household members aged 15 and older living in 17,860 sample households in the Busan area.
The survey covers a total of 60 to 64 items, including 15 basic items for statistical processing, 42 common items in the fields of health, safety, environment, family, and social integration, and 3 to 7 district-specific items reflecting the characteristics of each district.
Notably, from this year, nationwide common items are applied, making it possible to compare some social survey results between regions.
The survey method is primarily face-to-face interviews conducted by surveyors visiting the target households; however, considering the spread of COVID-19 this year, face-to-face contact will be minimized.
The survey will be conducted by distributing questionnaires to households for self-completion and then collecting them. Online surveys will be available through the Busan City Social Survey website until September 9th.
