BMW Korea Launches 3 Limited Edition Models to Celebrate 25th Anniversary
X5 M50i·X6 M50i 25th Anniversary Edition, M340i Donington Grey Edition, etc.
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] BMW Korea announced on the 24th that it will launch three limited online editions in August at 2:05 PM on the 25th to commemorate its 25th anniversary. The August editions will introduce the ‘X5 M50i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Edition’ and the ‘X6 M50i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Edition’ for the first time, along with the third model of the M340i online edition, the ‘M340i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Donington Grey Edition.’ All three models will be sold in limited quantities of 25 units each through the online sales channel, ‘BMW Shop Online.’
The X5 M50i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Edition and the X6 M50i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Edition are limited edition models based on the M Performance model M50i. They are described as delivering powerful performance comparable to the high-performance M models X5 M and X6 M while maintaining a reasonable price. The X5 M50i and X6 M50i are being introduced in Korea for the first time through these limited editions, with the regular models scheduled for official release in October.
These two models feature white and black exterior colors respectively, complemented by black high-gloss exterior trims to create a simple yet sophisticated atmosphere. The interiors maximize luxury with caramel-toned Tattoo leather and black Merino leather, along with Alcantara headliners. Additionally, M seat belts and M leather steering wheels are equipped to add the sporty feel unique to M Performance models.
Fitting for high-performance editions, they are equipped with a V8 4.4L TwinPower gasoline turbo engine delivering a maximum output of 530 horsepower and maximum torque of 76.5 kg·m. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 4.3 seconds. M Sport brakes, M Sport differential, and Integral Active Steering are applied to ensure sharp and dynamic driving performance. Notably, the X6 M50i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Edition features Adaptive M Suspension Professional for even more stable driving.
In addition, comfort features such as comfort seats, soft-closing doors, 4-zone automatic air conditioning, and a panoramic glass sky lounge have been enhanced. Prices are set at 146.5 million KRW for the X5 M50i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Edition and 149.4 million KRW for the X6 M50i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Edition.
The M340i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Donington Grey Edition is the third limited edition M340i model commemorating BMW Group Korea’s 25th anniversary. This edition features Donington Grey, one of BMW Individual’s exclusive colors. Carbon spoilers and carbon diffusers are installed on the trunk edge and lower rear bumper, while the interior emphasizes the sporty atmosphere unique to high-performance models with oyster-colored accents and M seat belts.
The M340i BMW Korea 25th Anniversary Donington Grey Edition is equipped with a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder gasoline M TwinPower turbo engine and an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. It delivers a maximum output of 387 horsepower and maximum torque of 51.0 kg·m. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
