Designation of 7 Areas Including Dongjak District Office as Assembly and Gathering Prohibited Zones
From 1 PM on the 18th until the COVID-19 crisis alert level 'Severe' is lifted... Prohibition of gatherings and assemblies at 7 locations including Noryangjin Station, Jangseungbaegi Station, and Boramae Hospital... Strict measures such as administrative orders, prosecution, and fines for holding assemblies in restricted areas
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) has designated seven areas around the district office and other locations as assembly and gathering prohibited zones until the COVID-19 crisis alert level ‘Severe’ is lifted, in order to protect residents' health and safety from COVID-19.
This measure was decided based on Article 49 of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act, in response to the recent resurgence of COVID-19 centered in the metropolitan area and the elevation of social distancing to Level 2, aiming to protect residents' health and lives through proactive infection control in spaces used by unspecified large groups.
The prohibited zones include ▲Dongjak-gu Office (outside the facility) ▲Boramae Hospital (outside the facility) ▲Yuhan Yanghang Building (outside the facility) ▲Noryangjin Fish Market (outside the facility) ▲Noryangjin Station area (including Noryangjin Station Plaza) ▲Jangseungbaegi Station area ▲Namseong Station area, totaling seven locations.
Due to the nature of assemblies, where many people gather for extended periods in close proximity, there is a high risk of COVID-19 infection not only for the participants but also for nearby residents.
Accordingly, the district has designated areas with heavy pedestrian traffic and concentrated resident presence as gathering prohibited zones, banning all forms of assemblies and gatherings in these designated locations.
The district announced the designation of these assembly and gathering prohibited zones, notified the organizing groups of the assembly ban, and posted banners at the prohibited locations to inform residents.
Going forward, any acts of gathering large numbers of people for assemblies within the prohibited zones will be strictly dealt with through administrative orders. Violators of the gathering ban will be reported and fined up to 3 million KRW in accordance with Article 80 of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
Meanwhile, starting from the 19th, the district has completed notifying and posting gathering prohibition orders at 12 types of high-risk COVID-19 facilities where operations are banned, including ▲karaoke rooms ▲PC rooms ▲indoor group exercise facilities ▲buffet restaurants ▲entertainment establishments, and plans to conduct regular compliance checks during the restriction period.
