'Presumed Workplace Infection' COVID-19 Confirmed in Call Center Employee (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A call center employee located in Jung-gu, Seoul, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to Dongjak-gu on the 20th, a person in their 40s (Dongjak 102), who works at a call center in Jung-gu, Seoul, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 yesterday afternoon and was transferred to a residential treatment center. One contact residing in another area is scheduled to undergo testing.
The Dongjak-gu Public Health Center estimates that patient number 102 was infected through contact with another confirmed case at the workplace. This confirmed patient used public transportation such as taxis and subways while wearing a mask on the 16th, 18th, and 19th. On the 17th, the patient was reported to have stayed at home in Sadang 1-dong all day.
On the afternoon of the same day, Dongjak-gu announced on the district office website that patient number 102's workplace was the "Samsung Electronics Call Center in Jung-gu," but after media reports, Samsung Electronics was removed and it was revised to "a call center located in Jung-gu."
