Korea Energy Co., Ltd. Partners with Gunsan City to Boost Investment and Job Creation
Investment of 43 Billion KRW in Gunsan 2 National Industrial Complex, Creating 270 Jobs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Gunsan City, Jeonbuk Province, has joined hands with Jeonbuk Province, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and Korea Energy Co., Ltd. based on mutual trust to ensure smooth investment and job creation.
On the 20th, according to the city, an investment agreement was signed in the city hall meeting room attended by Mayor Kang Im-jun, Woo Beom-gi, Jeonbuk Province Deputy Governor for Political Affairs, Kim Heung-chul, Head of Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and Kim Ji-jung, CEO of Korea Energy Co., Ltd.
Through this agreement, Korea Energy Co., Ltd. plans to invest 43 billion KRW in a 21,500㎡ site in Gunsan 2 National Industrial Complex, creating 270 jobs.
The city, together with Jeonbuk Province and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, agreed to actively cooperate to receive administrative and financial support according to relevant laws and ordinances.
As the city is promoting diversification of the industrial structure, including renewable energy and electric vehicle industries, this investment agreement is expected to further solidify Gunsan's position as a hub for renewable energy.
Mayor Kang Im-jun said, “Gunsan City, Jeonbuk Province, and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation will be Korea Energy Co., Ltd.'s win-win partners and will spare no administrative and financial support so that the company can focus solely on production activities. Korea Energy Co., Ltd.'s investment will greatly contribute to Gunsan playing a leading role in Saemangeum as a center for renewable energy.”
