Russia Reports Over 4,000 New COVID-19 Cases for 4 Consecutive Days... Total Reaches 930,000, Ranking 4th Worldwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sunhee] In Russia, the daily new confirmed cases of COVID-19 remained in the 4,000 range for the fourth consecutive day as of the 19th (local time). The cumulative number of confirmed cases has surpassed 930,000, ranking fourth in the world after the United States, Brazil, and India.
According to the Russian government's COVID-19 Prevention and Control Headquarters, 4,828 new infections were reported across 85 regions nationwide, including Moscow, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases to 937,321. In the capital city of Moscow alone, 691 new cases were reported.
The nationwide COVID-19 death toll increased by 117 in one day, reaching a total of 15,989. On the same day, 6,795 patients recovered, bringing the cumulative number of recoveries to 749,423.

Russia's daily new confirmed cases surged sharply since the end of April, peaking at around 11,000 in early May. Although the numbers later declined, they remained in the 5,000 to 6,000 range for some time before recently dropping to around 4,000 to 5,000 cases.
