[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Former lawmaker Cha Myung-jin, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), revealed the circumstances of his diagnosis, stating that he "did not go to Sarang Jeil Church but attended the Gwanghwamun rally as a patriotic citizen."
On the same day, Cha posted on Facebook, "I did not go to Sarang Jeil Church in August due to various reasons," and added, "Although I did not stand on the podium at the Gwanghwamun rally on August 15, heavy rain caused the planned move to be canceled, and I ended up going to the Gwanghwamun rally as one of the patriotic citizens."
He continued, "I arrived at Donghwa Duty-Free Shop at 12:30 a.m., went to the tent in front of the podium for about 10 minutes, and greeted the officials," and "Afterwards, I left the place and went in front of Gyeongbokgung Palace to have a meal with people I did not know."

Cha stated that since he had just moved to Cheongpyeong, he did not socialize with people around the neighborhood, and that he had gone to a lifestyle goods store and to a real estate agency in Bucheon to sign a contract for the move. He added that he is currently waiting for an ambulance.
