Jungnang-gu Hosts 'Future Lee Jung-seop Children's Art Contest' Competition
2020 Future Lee Jung-seop Children's Art Contest, Held with Minimal Face-to-Face Contact Until September 14... Submission Themes: Manguri Park History, Great Figures, or COVID-19 Overcoming Hope Messages
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is holding the "Future Lee Jung-seop Children's Art Contest" until September 14.
The "Future Lee Jung-seop Children's Art Contest" commemorates the birthday and death anniversary of Lee Jung-seop, who rests in Manguri Park. Since 2017, the contest has been held annually on-site in September, but this year, due to COVID-19, submissions are accepted by mail to minimize face-to-face contact.
The contest is divided into three categories: nationwide kindergarten (ages 5-7), lower elementary (grades 1-3), and upper elementary (grades 4-6).
Children who wish to participate can choose one theme from Manguri Park's history and great figures or hopeful messages overcoming COVID-19. The artwork size is 8-cut drawing paper for kindergarten and 4-cut drawing paper for elementary students.
Works should be submitted by September 14 along with the application form downloaded from the Jungnang-gu website, either by mail or in person to Jungnang Art Center (Jungnang-gu, Mangu-ro 353, Inno City Building C, B2F Jungnang Art Center). When submitting in person, COVID-19 prevention guidelines such as wearing masks must be strictly followed.
Through this contest, the district plans not only to commemorate the artist Lee Jung-seop and other great figures resting in Manguri Park but also to nurture children's dreams through their artworks containing messages of hope and to support residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The winners will be announced on the Jungnang-gu Office website in October, and certificates will be awarded. The artworks will be exhibited online through the Jungnang-gu website and other platforms.
