View original imageThe indoor exhibition facilities under the jurisdiction of the Cultural Heritage Administration will be temporarily closed due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). These include the National Palace Museum, Deoksugung Seokjojeon and Jungmyeongjeon, Changgyeonggung Greenhouse, and the Joseon Royal Tombs History and Culture Center (Seooreung, Gimpo Jangneung, Sejong the Great Historic Site Management Office). The Cultural Heritage Administration stated, "With the 'social distancing' measures in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi areas being strengthened to level 2, all indoor exhibition facilities will cease operations starting from the 19th." They also said, "The schedule for reopening will be announced through the official website." Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung, Deoksugung, Jongmyo, Sungnyemun, Sajikdan, and the Joseon Royal Tombs are excluded from the closure. There were 991 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported from the 13th to the 17th.
