Jeonbuk's 46th COVID-19 Confirmed Case Participates in Gwanghwamun Rally
It is understood that about 300 people from the province participated in the Gwanghwamun rally.
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Health authorities are on high alert as the 46th confirmed COVID-19 case in Jeonbuk Province was reported to have participated in the Gwanghwamun rally.
According to Jeonbuk health authorities on the 17th, it has been confirmed that around 300 church members from Jeonbuk also participated in the Gwanghwamun rally on the 15th.
Church members from 4 to 5 cities and counties within the province used chartered buses to attend the Gwanghwamun rally, and the 46th confirmed case, Ms. A (a woman in her 60s from Gunsan), also participated in the rally that day.
Ms. A had been staying and lodging at Sarang Jeil Church in Seoul since last winter, visited her home in Gunsan on the 14th, and then returned to Seoul on the 15th to participate again in the Gwanghwamun rally.
On the morning of the 15th, around 7 a.m., Ms. A took a city bus from her home to Gunsan Public Stadium, and between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., she traveled to Seoul using a tourist bus and city buses.
After arriving in Seoul, Ms. A participated in the Gwanghwamun rally from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and then returned to Gunsan Public Stadium between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. using a tourist bus and city buses.
Ms. A received a text notification as a contact of Sarang Jeil Church, visited a screening clinic around 2 p.m. on the 16th for testing, and was confirmed positive at 2 a.m. on the 17th.
