Gijang-gun decided to implement measures equivalent to social distancing level 3 and mobilize all administrative resources to block the spread of COVID-19.
Accordingly, all gatherings such as meetings, events, and training sessions hosted or organized by Gijang-gun will be entirely suspended. The rental of the Cha-seong Art Hall, the county office's large conference room, and town and township meeting rooms has also been prohibited.
Village chief meetings will be held online, and weekly work reports will be conducted at Cha-seong Art Hall while maintaining a 2-meter distance.
On the same day at 8:30 p.m., Gijang-gun Mayor Oh Gyu-seok urgently convened a 'COVID-19 Situation Response Emergency Meeting' with heads of departments and five town and township chiefs.
Mayor Oh stated, "COVID-19 is spreading nationwide. Since external visitors to Gijang-gun are rapidly increasing, we must implement social distancing measures more strictly," and instructed, "From the 18th, we will apply a manual equivalent to social distancing level 3 to respond accordingly."
Starting from the 18th, outdoor sports facilities such as Gijang-Hyundai Dream Ballpark, Jwagwangcheon Baseball Stadium, World Cup Village, Cheolma Sports Facilities, and Sodubang Sports Park, as well as seven public libraries including Gijang Library, Jeonggwan Library, Jeonggwan Children's Library, Gijang Digital Library, Daera Multi-purpose Library, Gochon Eoullim Library, and Naeri Saera Library, will be closed.
Control over public facilities such as the county office and town and township offices will be strengthened, and entry will be denied without wearing a mask. All employees must wear masks even during work.
In particular, administrative measures will be strengthened for high-risk facilities and crowded places such as religious facilities, PC rooms, restaurants, beaches, Gijang Market, and the 5-day market.
Administrative guidance will be intensified to ensure strict compliance with quarantine rules such as mask-wearing and maintaining a 2-meter distance between attendees.
