The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 15th, "Despite the Seoul city’s assembly ban order and court rulings due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, the organizers forcibly held a large-scale illegal rally, occupying downtown roads and causing inconvenience to the public for several hours. We will begin an investigation into the rally organizers."
To this end, the police formed a dedicated investigation team of 29 members, led by the head of the Seoul Police Investigation Department as the TF team leader.
The police plan to investigate the groups that conducted long-term illegal rallies, such as illegal occupation of Sejongno Intersection and Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, applying charges including violation of the Assembly and Demonstration Act, general traffic obstruction, and violation of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
