[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Actor Song Il-guk, volleyball player Kim Yeon-koung, and group BTOB member Yook Sung-jae attended the 75th Liberation Day Celebration Ceremony.
The 75th Liberation Day Celebration Ceremony held on the 15th at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) was broadcast live through the three major terrestrial broadcasters (SBS, KBS1, MBC).
The ceremony proceeded in the order of opening performance, national ceremony, commemorative speech, awards for independence activists, congratulatory speech, celebratory performance, three cheers for victory, and singing of the Liberation Day song.
Song Il-guk, a descendant of General Kim Jwa-jin who led the victory in the Battle of Cheongsanri, which marks its 100th anniversary this year, attended and hosted the event.
During the national ceremony, the reading of the salute to the national flag was performed by female volleyball national team player Kim Yeon-koung. All participants sang the national anthem and observed a moment of silence.
Notably, Yook Sung-jae, a member of BTOB who enlisted in the military after the JTBC drama 'Ssanggab Pocha' ended in May, was also captured giving a salute. Currently, Yook Sung-jae is serving as a military musician in the Ministry of National Defense's Support Unit.

Meanwhile, President Moon Jae-in and his wife, independence activists, key figures from the four branches of government, political party leaders, and other prominent figures from various sectors attended the ceremony to honor the patriotic martyrs and pray for the development and prosperity of the Republic of Korea.
