'2020 Nexen Tire Speed Racing' Opens on the 16th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The '2020 Nexen Tire Speed Racing' sponsored by Nexen Tire will be held on the 16th at Taebaek Speedway, the company announced on the 14th.
The Nexen Tire Speed Racing competition is the longest-running and largest-scale racing event in Korea, with Nexen Tire participating as the main sponsor for 15 years since 2006 to expand the domestic motorsports base.
Starting with the qualifying race on the 15th and concluding with the final race on the 16th, this round is expected to continue the excitement with a total of 9 classes and about 170 vehicles participating.
In particular, this season, new one-make car classes ‘KSR-GT’ and ‘KSR-CHALLENGE’ have been established to provide more diverse attractions.
Meanwhile, amid the ongoing no-audience events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be operated with thorough quarantine procedures, including regular temperature checks, venue disinfection, mandatory mask-wearing, and minimizing contact between participants to ensure full prevention of the virus.
