Dobong-gu, Sharing 'Love Samgyetang' to Celebrate Malbok
‘Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Changdong Branch’ and ‘Emart Changdong Branch’ Have Sponsored Samgyetang Annually Since 2014 to Share Love with Neighbors in Need
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] To support the elderly and low-income groups exhausted by COVID-19 and the continuous rainy season, businesses and Dobong-gu have joined forces.
Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) held the "Sambok Love Samgyetang Sharing" event on the 13th at the Dobong-gu Office plaza.
Local businesses, Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Changdong Branch and E-Mart Changdong Branch, have been sponsoring samgyetang every year since 2014 to share love with neighbors in need.
At the event, 400 packs of samgyetang, 800 instant soup meals, and 400 three-minute meals were sponsored.
The sponsored samgyetang and other meals were delivered to about 400 elderly people over two days, from the 13th to the 14th, at five locations: Changdong Senior Welfare Center, Ssangmun-dong Senior Welfare Center, Banghak-dong Senior Welfare Center, Dobong-dong Senior Welfare Center, and Dobong Senior Comprehensive Welfare Center.
So far, Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Changdong Branch and E-Mart have been representative businesses of Dobong-gu, conducting various volunteer programs for the local community and residents.
Notable events include the "Dobong-gu Family Cooking Contest" and the "Love Kimchi Sharing."

Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "We are grateful to the companies for lending their support to neighbors who find outdoor activities difficult due to COVID-19 and recent heavy rains," adding, "We will continue to work harder with the residents to overcome this crisis."
