Netmarble 2Q Operating Profit Up 146%... Overseas Sales Reach All-Time High (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Netmarble announced on the 12th that it recorded sales of 685.7 billion KRW and an operating profit of 81.7 billion KRW in the second quarter. These figures represent increases of 30.3% and 146.1%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
In particular, Netmarble explained that overseas sales accounted for 75% (514.4 billion KRW) of second-quarter sales, marking a record high on a quarterly basis, and that there has been a steady increase each quarter.
The company added that titles such as 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross,' 'Marvel Contest of Champions,' 'Lineage 2 Revolution,' 'Blade & Soul Revolution,' and 'Cookie Jam' continue to perform steadily in major global markets including North America and Japan.
Netmarble plans to target domestic and overseas markets in the second half of the year by leading with new releases based on its own intellectual property (IP) and well-known IPs.
Following the release of the baseball game 'Magumagu 2020 Mobile' in July, Netmarble is preparing for the worldwide simultaneous launch of 'BTS Universe Story,' aiming for release within the third quarter.
Additionally, the company plans to release 'Seven Knights 2' and 'Seven Knights Time Wonder,' which utilize Netmarble's flagship IP 'Seven Knights,' as well as 'Marvel Realm of Champions' in the second half of the year.
'A3: Still Alive,' which was released domestically in March, is also preparing for a global launch.
