The Samsung Electronics labor union has decided to postpone its general strike and put the tentative agreement with management to a vote.
According to the Samsung Electronics Union Joint Struggle Headquarters on May 20, it appears that labor and management reached a dramatic agreement just about an hour before the strike scheduled for May 21.
On May 20, the Samsung Electronics Union Joint Struggle Headquarters notified its members in its guidelines for action that "the general strike scheduled from May 21 to June 7 will be postponed until further notice."

They also announced that "all union members will participate in a vote on the tentative agreement for the 2026 wage contract, which will be held from 9:00 a.m. on May 23 to 10:00 a.m. on May 28."
