View original imageThe Ministry of the Interior and Safety activated Level 1 of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters at 4:30 p.m. on May 20, 2026.
This measure was taken to enable a proactive response following the issuance of heavy rain advisories for Incheon, Gyeonggi, Jeonnam, and Gyeongnam on the same day.
Yoon Ho-jung, head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, ordered the thorough establishment of emergency response systems in each region and instructed that risk information be shared in real time among relevant agencies. He also called for strengthened monitoring and preemptive control of vulnerable areas, as well as the proactive evacuation of residents when necessary.
