[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it imposed and notified the 2020 regular resident tax on the 10th.
The payment targets this time are 34,275 cases amounting to 529 million KRW. The taxpayers are individual household heads residing in the jurisdiction as of the tax base date, July 1, individual business owners with a total VAT taxable income of 48 million KRW or more, and corporations with business offices in the jurisdiction.
Goheung-gun stated that "resident tax individual equal shares are exempted from taxation for minors under 18 years old and unmarried household heads under 30 years old who form a single-person household."
This is intended to reduce the burden on minors, job seekers, and students who lack the ability to earn a living or the capacity to pay taxes.
However, if a minor living with adults such as parents is registered as the household head on the resident registration, the resident tax is not exempted.

A county official said, "The deadline for resident tax payment is August 31, and we will focus on publicity to prevent taxpayers from missing the deadline and incurring a 3% surcharge."
