[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] National Assembly member Min Hyung-bae and the Gwangsan-gu Eul Regional Committee of Gwangju Metropolitan City worked hard on emergency recovery volunteer activities in the flood-affected areas.
According to the Gwangsan-gu Eul Regional Committee on the 12th, more than 70 party members, including city and district council members and standing committee members from Gwangsan-gu Eul, carried out flood recovery volunteer activities in the areas of Sinchang-dong, Imgok-dong, and Cheomdan 2-dong, which suffered flood damage due to heavy rain.
On that day, the volunteer activities were divided into four groups to carry out flood recovery work in ▲ Sinchang-dong Furniture Street ▲ Sinchang-dong residential area and factories ▲ Bongsan Village in Cheomdan 2-dong ▲ and Imgok-dong.
Party members participating in flood recovery at Sinchang-dong Furniture Street moved wet furniture equivalent to four 5-ton trucks outside the stores and cleaned up trash, continuing the work for about three hours.
Party members involved in flood recovery in Imgok-dong worked on repairing farming tools and materials in flooded vinyl greenhouses, and in Bongsan Village as well as the residential and factory areas of Sinchang-dong, they moved household items and factory equipment.

Representative Min said, “I am grateful that despite it being the vacation season and a weekday, many participated in the recovery work, and I hope even more people will come forward to overcome the worst flood disaster.” He added, “We will do our best at the National Assembly level to provide institutional support for disaster prevention and recovery, and to designate special disaster areas.”
