Inha University Provides Special COVID-19 Scholarships... Up to 370,000 KRW Per Person

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Inha University has decided to provide special scholarships to alleviate the financial burden of tuition fees on students caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Inha University announced on the 12th that it will provide a special COVID-19 scholarship amounting to 7.14% of the tuition fees for the first semester of this year.
The total scholarship fund is 3.85 billion KRW, with up to 370,000 KRW per student depending on their major field of study.
The recipients are 14,682 students out of the total 17,507 undergraduate students enrolled in the first semester of this year, excluding those who are on leave, expelled, or have withdrawn. Full scholarship recipients for the first semester are excluded from this benefit.
The scholarship will be prioritized for students whose valid bank accounts under their own names are confirmed by the 14th, with payments made by the end of this month. The remaining students will receive their scholarships additionally in September to October.

An Inha University official stated, "We secured the scholarship funds through efforts to reduce the school budget, as well as contributions from faculty, staff, and the alumni association fund," adding, "We hope this scholarship will provide comfort to students and parents exhausted by COVID-19."
