Disaster Recovery Volunteer Activities Underway
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] The Gyeongnam Jinju Volunteer Organizations Council (hereinafter referred to as the Council) announced on the 10th that it conducted volunteer activities to restore damage by visiting Yangok Village in Naedong-myeon, which was flooded due to heavy rain.
Due to the heavy rain that fell on Jinju City on the 7th and 8th, 15 households in Yangok Village, Naedong-myeon were flooded, resulting in 21 displaced residents, prompting volunteers to engage in emergency restoration activities.
About 80 volunteers who participated in the activities on that day worked hard on emergency damage restoration activities such as cleaning household items inside and outside the flooded houses and removing soil inflow.
In addition, the Jinju Volunteer Center provided lunch and snacks for the volunteers and military personnel deployed on site.
Chairman Bang Man-hyeok of the Council expressed his gratitude, saying, “We thank all the volunteers who supported the restoration activities despite the sudden request for volunteer work.”
