On the 10th, the city announced that it will begin construction of the "Sea Scented Breeze Project" this month to improve the residential environment and landscape of Sinsi Island.
This Sinsi Island residential and landscape improvement project is part of Jeonbuk Province's "Beautiful Residential and Landscape Improvement Project," aiming not only to create a pleasant living environment but also to promote tourism.
The city plans to invest 1.25 billion KRW to install convenience facilities such as rest areas by the end of the year and create a comfortable living environment by improving slate roofs.
Additionally, murals reflecting the village's traditions, legends, and the sorrows of island life, as well as building painting and installation of landscape sculptures, will be implemented to enhance the scenery.
The city expects that once this project is completed, it will harmonize with the National Sinsi Island Natural Recreation Forest, scheduled to open in 2021, and the scenic views of the Gogunsan Archipelago, thereby revitalizing tourism.
