[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] On the 7th, Japan recorded the highest number of new daily confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to NHK on that day, the number of new confirmed cases announced by local governments nationwide (as of 6:30 PM) totaled 1,584, including 462 in Tokyo and 255 in Osaka.
This surpassed the previous highest daily record of 1,580 cases set on the 31st of last month, breaking it within a week.
