Gimcheon City Abruptly Postpones 'National Swimming Competition' ... Considering 'COVID-19' Confirmed Cases

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gimcheon City, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 7th that it will indefinitely postpone the "10th National Swimming Competition," which was scheduled to open on the 12th.
This decision was made considering concerns about community infection after a couple in their 60s living in Gimcheon was confirmed as COVID-19 positive on the 4th, the city of Gimcheon said. Gimcheon City had previously postponed the event three days before the scheduled date on the 7th of last month.
A Gimcheon City official stated, "This competition involves high school athletes' advancement issues, so we were trying to resume it as soon as possible to minimize the students' damage, but a confirmed case occurred in the region," adding, "We plan to review whether to hold the event again in close consultation with the Korea Swimming Federation."
