Seoul Gangseo-gu, Recruiting Participants for Youth Hope Job Program
'COVID-19 Overcome Youth Hope Jobs' Recruiting 179 People... Applications Open Until August 14, Priority Selection for Youth Living in Gangseo-gu and Unemployed or Closed Business Youth
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is promoting the ‘Gangseo-gu Youth Hope Job Project’ to support young people struggling with job seeking and to revitalize the local economy amid COVID-19.
This project was established to provide jobs to young people facing economic difficulties due to prolonged employment challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and to inject vitality into the stagnant local economy.
The total number of recruits is 179, and the project period is four months from August 24 to December 23.
The selected individuals will be assigned to nine projects including ▲ School Disinfection Youth Team ▲ Education Content Production Support Manager Training Project ▲ Children’s Activity Space Safety Keeper ▲ Clean Library Creation Project ▲ COVID-19 Resident Safety Management Team, among others.
Applicants must be young people aged between 19 and 39 who are registered residents of Seoul as of the project start date (August 24).
Priority will be given to those residing in Gangseo-gu, those who have been unemployed or had to close (including temporary closure) their business due to COVID-19, and those with experience related to specific projects. However, those currently participating in existing public job projects or receiving livelihood benefits are restricted from participating.
Residents wishing to participate must visit the Gangseo-gu Office Annex Job Policy Division (4th floor, Tamna Youngjaegwan, Exit 1 of Gayang Station) in person by August 14 with their ID card, the Hope Job Project application form, consent form for personal information, and other related documents to apply.
Those who have been unemployed or had to close their business due to COVID-19, or those with relevant experience in specific projects, must submit documents proving these facts.

The district will select participants based on eligibility, selection priority, and applicants’ first-choice projects, and will notify the final participants individually on August 20.
Participants will receive a wage of 8,590 KRW per hour, with additional weekly and monthly allowances.
Mayor Noh Hyun-song said, “I hope this Youth Hope Job Project will be of some help to young people struggling due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to discover various jobs for residents facing difficulties such as employment instability.”
The district is currently operating the COVID-19 Overcome Hope Job Project, having selected 1,217 people from August 3 to help alleviate the economic downturn caused by COVID-19 and stabilize the livelihoods of vulnerable groups.
