Police Apply Arrest Warrant for Mother Who Threatened 10-Year-Old Son with a Weapon as "Discipline"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A mother was arrested on charges of threatening her son with a weapon in a residential area in Seoul.
The Gangdong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 5th that they had applied for an arrest warrant for Park Mo (38), who is accused of violating the Child Welfare Act.
Park is accused of grabbing and dragging her son Lee Mo (10) by the hair and threatening him with a weapon around 8:20 p.m. on the 22nd of last month in a residential area in Cheonho-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul. In the police investigation, Park stated that "this happened while disciplining my son because he did not listen." The police have currently separated Lee and sent him to a shelter. Park was previously referred to the family court last July for assaulting Lee for coming home late.
