Audi to Compete in Electric Car Racing 'Formula E' Held in Berlin
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Audi announced on the 4th that it has completed preparations to participate in the Formula E race resuming in Berlin, Germany from the 5th, and will challenge for the victory.
This Formula E will break a five-month hiatus and hold six races over nine days from the 5th on the Berlin track in Germany. Audi's manufacturer team, ‘Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler,’ will challenge for the championship title by recruiting new drivers. The Formula E season will conclude after the six races held in Berlin.
Lucas di Grassi, the lead driver of ‘Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler,’ expressed his ambition, saying, “Our goal is to seize the championship title in Berlin.”
Berlin is also the best stage for Lucas di Grassi. He has won the most races among Formula E drivers in Berlin, with five victories, and also achieved good results last year.
The biggest change for the ‘Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler’ team this season is the recruitment of Ren? Rast, a two-time DTM champion. He said, “I have done everything I can, and besides testing, I spent many hours analyzing and monitoring data with engineers,” adding, “I am perfectly prepared for Formula E and want to achieve good results in Berlin.” Ren? Rast is racing in both Formula E and DTM, and he is maintaining his 2nd place title in the 2020 DTM season.
