KT·KIND, Global Data Center Development Collaboration
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 4th that it signed an MOU for global data center business development cooperation with the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) at the KT Gwanghwamun Building.
KIND is an institution that supports overseas investment and development projects. It helps Korean companies secure overseas infrastructure projects through information provision, consulting, and investment support. Through this MOU, the two parties plan to jointly explore KT's data center business expansion into overseas markets by ▲joint development of overseas data center projects ▲exchange of overseas business information ▲discovery of public-private cooperation business models ▲consulting related to business development and financing, and expand the scope of projects such as smart city projects.
According to the MOU, KT will be responsible for data center business design and planning, product design, and business management based on its No. 1 domestic IDC business capabilities, while KIND will support business development by discovering new data center demand, sharing business information, attracting investment, and providing financial support in connection with overseas projects it is promoting.

Huh Kyung-gu, President of KIND, said, "Through this MOU, KIND will enter the new data center business field," and added, "If both parties cooperate, we will be able to support our companies' global expansion more efficiently." Park Yoon-young, President of KT Enterprise Division, said, "Through this MOU, our companies will be able to use ICT resources overseas just like in Korea," and added, "We will continue to expand KT's various domestic business capabilities globally through cooperation with KIND."
