Yeonggwang-gun Replaces 'Civil Defense Training' with Online Sessions Due to COVID-19 Impact
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 3rd that all civil defense training this year will be replaced with online training due to the impact of COVID-19.
Previously, civil defense members in their 1st to 4th year attended 4 hours of in-person training, while those with 5 or more years completed 1 hour of emergency assembly or cyber training.
As COVID-19 prolongs, all civil defense members and leaders affiliated with the county can complete 1 hour of training by accessing the civil defense cyber training site via smartphone or PC from the 17th until November 13th.
To provide training opportunities for civil defense members who have difficulty attending cyber training, written training will also be conducted.
Written training materials and assignments will be distributed only to applicants, and they must complete and submit the assignments within 30 days of receiving the materials.
Considering the significant decrease in blood supply due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, the county will treat submission of a copy of a blood donation certificate to the relevant town or township office as completion of civil defense training this year.
