COVID-19 New Cases: 23 of 31 Imported... No Additional Deaths (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) recorded in the 30s. The number of confirmed cases imported from overseas was nearly three times higher than the number of cases occurring domestically.
On the 1st, the Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight, 31 new domestic COVID-19 confirmed cases were added. Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases is 14,336.
Among them, 23 cases were infected through overseas inflow routes, and 8 cases were confirmed domestically.
Of the overseas imported confirmed cases, 19 were detected during airport or port quarantine processes. The remaining 4 tested positive while in self-quarantine at their residences or temporary living facilities in Gyeonggi (2 cases), Busan, and Incheon (1 case each).
Among the countries from which confirmed cases were imported, Iraq had the highest number with 14 cases.
By domestic region, there were 5 cases in Gyeonggi, 2 in Seoul, and 1 in Gyeongbuk.
Meanwhile, no additional deaths due to COVID-19 occurred, maintaining the cumulative death toll at 301.

As of midnight, 13,233 confirmed cases have been released from quarantine, and 802 patients are currently undergoing isolation treatment. Among them, 13 patients are in critical or severe condition.
