청 "8 Multi-House Secretary Officials Under Disposition... Sales Contracts to Be Submitted by Next Month" (Comprehensive)
청, Noh Young-min Chief Secretary Multi-homeowner Disposal Recommendation Results Explanation... "Everyone Without Exception Intends to Dispose of Multiple Homes"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The Blue House announced that among secretariat-level officials and above who own multiple homes, 8 individuals are in the process of disposing of all their properties except for one. The Blue House has demanded that housing sales contracts be submitted by no later than next month.
Yoon Do-han, the Blue House Chief of Public Communication, stated at a briefing in the Chuncheon Press Center on the afternoon of the 31st, "Those who own multiple homes have either disposed of or are in the process of disposing of all homes except for one," adding, "There are 8 individuals who own multiple homes, and without exception, all have expressed their intention to dispose of them."
Previously, Presidential Chief of Staff Noh Young-min strongly recommended that secretariat-level officials and above who own multiple homes dispose of all except one. Yoon's announcement was made to explain the status of housing sales among secretariat-level officials and above who own multiple homes.
The Blue House identified the multiple homeowners as Kim Jo-won, Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs; Kim Geo-seong, Senior Secretary for Civil Society; Hwang Deok-sun, Senior Secretary for Jobs; Kim Oe-sook, Senior Secretary for Personnel; Yeo Hyun-ho, Secretary for National Public Relations; Lee Ji-su, Secretary for Overseas Media; Lee Nam-gu, Secretary for Public Service Discipline; and Seok Jong-hoon, Secretary for Small and Medium Ventures, totaling 8 individuals.
Kim Jo-won and the other 7 have put their homes on the market to dispose of all properties except one. Yoon said, "Although some media reports falsely claimed that some senior secretaries had no intention to dispose of their homes, we did not respond to each report."
The Blue House did not provide specific details about which homes were put on the market. A senior Blue House official said, "We have not heard of any cases where properties were gifted to family members," adding, "We understand that such cases do not exist."
Among the multiple homeowners at the Blue House, there are cases where homes have been put on the market but disposal is not easy. A senior Blue House official explained, "In some cases where transactions are difficult, prices are lowered to attract buyers," adding, "For example, Hwang Deok-sun, Senior Secretary for Jobs, has put three properties in the Cheongju area on the market in July; one has a sales contract, but the others are in areas where transactions are not active." This indicates that in suburban areas rather than downtown, even if there is an intention to dispose of homes, sales are not easy.
A senior Blue House official said, "Kim Geo-seong, Senior Secretary for Civil Society, holds pre-sale rights inherited through succession, but these are within a non-transferable period, so they cannot be sold," adding, "Therefore, he is trying to sell other properties."
A senior Blue House official said, "There have been reports that Seo Ju-seok, First Deputy Director of the National Security Office, owns multiple homes, but he has disposed of them and is now a single-home owner," adding, "Since this will eventually be published in the official gazette, the timing of disposal and other details will be disclosed. A situation where there are zero multiple homeowners will come."
The Blue House counts a home as disposed of once a sales contract is signed. Since registration takes 2 to 3 months, the judgment on whether a home has been disposed of is based on the sales contract.
A senior Blue House official said, "All sales dates will be disclosed. There will be no cases where properties are listed at high prices and left unsold intentionally."
