Gokseong-gun Holds Blueberry Joint Shipment Meeting
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 30th, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 31st that it held a meeting with blueberry farmer group executives and leading farmers at the Agricultural Technology Center.
On that day, the attendees discussed the establishment of a blueberry joint shipping system and the direction of the 2021 blueberry support project.
As a result, it was agreed to operate a joint sorting center in 2021 and to establish a detailed implementation plan within the year.
Gokseong-gun is supporting heating devices and multi-layer thermal curtains to expand early blueberry cultivation and generate high income.
Due to these efforts by the county, the early cultivation area has steadily increased, expanding to 6.4 hectares in 2020.
This year, a budget of 50 million KRW has been allocated for early blueberry cultivation, and a total of six detailed projects are underway.
Although this expansion of early cultivation has established a system for year-round blueberry production, most shipments are carried out individually.
Therefore, there are concerns about the long-term decline of the local blueberry industry. Accordingly, local blueberry farmers have great interest in the joint shipping system to be promoted based on the results of this meeting.
The Gokseong-gun side judges that there is no obstacle to operating joint shipping in terms of blueberry cultivation area and production volume.
