Gwangju City Announces Legislative Notice for Partial Amendment of Ordinance on River Occupancy and Usage Fees
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that it had publicly notified a partial amendment to the "Gwangju Metropolitan City River Occupation Fee and Usage Fee Collection Ordinance" on the 27th, which mainly includes the reduction and refund of river occupation fees to reflect the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the River Act and to alleviate the economic difficulties of private businesses caused by COVID-19.
The existing ordinance only stipulated reduction clauses for natural disasters such as floods and droughts, but the scope of "disasters" will be expanded by adding a new clause stating "cases recognized as having special circumstances equivalent to other disasters," allowing the amendment to apply to social disasters such as COVID-19.
The public notice period will last until the 17th of next month, and after administrative procedures such as regulatory review and corruption impact assessment, it is scheduled to be implemented by the end of September.
