Election of Kang Dong-hwa, Chairman of Jeonju City Council, as the 8th Late-term Council Chairman
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Kang Dong-hwa, chairman of the Jeonju City Council in Jeollabuk-do, was elected as the chairman of the Jeollabuk-do City and County Council Chairpersons' Association.
On the 30th, the Jeollabuk-do City and County Council Chairpersons' Association held the 256th monthly meeting and an extraordinary general meeting at the Jeonju City Council, unanimously appointing Kang Dong-hwa, chairman of the Jeonju City Council, as the 8th term second half chairman of the association.
Additionally, Jeong Gil-su, chairman of the Gunsan City Council, and Choi In-gyu, chairman of the Gochang County Council, were elected as standing vice chairmen, and Jo Sang-jung, chairman of the Jeongeup City Council, and Kim Kwang-su, chairman of the Jinan County Council, were elected as auditors.
The newly elected chairman Kang Dong-hwa will lead the association representing the city and county councils of Jeollabuk-do for the next two years.
New chairman Kang Dong-hwa stated, “The association representing the city and county councils of Jeollabuk-do will take the lead in discovering policies for the happy lives of residents at the center of regional politics,” adding, “The association will unite efforts to establish complete local autonomy and revitalize the regional economy.”
