[Photo] Noh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Breaks Ground on Gangseo Arts Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 29th at 4 p.m., Noh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo District, attended the groundbreaking ceremony held at the site of Gangseo Cultural Center and performed the commemorative groundbreaking shovel ceremony.
About 20 people, including National Assembly member Han Jung-ae, Lee Ui-geol, Chairman of Gangseo District Council, Kim Jin-ho, Director of Gangseo Cultural Center, and local residents, participated in the ceremony. The event was greatly simplified in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, proceeding in the order of groundbreaking shovel ceremony and commemorative photo session.
Gangseo Cultural Center will be built on six parcels including 379-68, Hwagok-dong, with a total floor area of 4,240㎡, consisting of two basement floors and five above-ground floors. It will include ▲a multipurpose space for cultural lectures and education ▲a 220-seat performance hall equipped with the latest sound, stage, and lighting systems.
The district plans to invest a total project cost of 34.8 billion KRW, including 7.1 billion KRW from city funds and 27.7 billion KRW from district funds, aiming for completion in 2022.
