Five Teenagers Transferred to Prosecutors for Gang Rape of Peer Middle School Girls
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] Five middle and high school male students accused of gang raping a female middle school second-year student have been sent to the prosecution.
The Siheung Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 29th that they sent five suspects, including A (15), to the prosecution without detention on charges of rape by coercion and intimidation under the Act on the Protection of Children and Youth Against Sexual Offenses.
They are accused of calling the female victim, B, in February, making her drink alcohol, and then raping her while she was intoxicated.
Two of the perpetrator students first called B and raped her, and three days later, the remaining three committed the crime twice using the same method.
It was confirmed that they had been senior and junior in the neighborhood.
Shocked, B did not disclose the victimization to those around her and only revealed it later.
During the police investigation, the perpetrator students denied the charges, claiming it was "consensual sexual relations."
