Introducing Local Artists to Residents... Transforming into a Healing Space through Culture and Arts... Open Exhibition until September... Featuring 18 Unique Works by Artists Active in Mullae-dong
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) has created a gallery in the corridor of the district office building so that residents visiting the office can experience and enjoy art in their daily lives.
The district collaborated with the Yeongdeungpo Cultural Foundation and local artists, exhibiting works created by the artists on the corridor walls of the 3rd floor of the main district office building and held an opening exhibition.
This exhibition showcased works by young contemporary artists based in Mullae-dong. Participating artists included Kang Jun-young, Kim Na-yul, Kim Soon-mi, Song Ho-cheol, Yoo Ji-in, Jang Eun-woo, Jeon Eun-sook, Choi Ra-yoon, and Choi Seon.
Along with introductions to the local artists, a total of 18 vibrant and lively works capturing the scenery of Yeongdeungpo-gu can be viewed until the end of September.
Through the regular operation of the corridor gallery exhibitions, the district plans to support local artists and provide a platform to introduce and discover local talent for residents, transforming the district office from a rigid public institution image into an ‘everyday art space’ that residents always want to visit.
