Vietnam Strengthens Management of Business Entrants Under COVID-19 Exemptions
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] The Vietnamese government is reportedly strengthening the management of exceptional entry for foreign businesspeople to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to local Vietnamese media on the 28th, the Vietnam COVID-19 Prevention Steering Committee sent official letters to various ministries and local governments, ordering enhanced COVID-19 prevention measures targeting foreign businesspeople entering the country.
Accordingly, businesspeople entering after the 5th of next month are required to undergo real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing at government-approved or World Health Organization (WHO)-recognized medical institutions 3 to 7 days before entry.
Additionally, if an incoming businessperson contracts COVID-19, the inviting organization must guarantee coverage of medical expenses or enroll in related insurance.
