Japan Cabinet Secretariat on North Korea's Nuclear Deterrence Mention: "North Korea-US Denuclearization Agreement Must Be Implemented"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Regarding North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un's mention of 'self-defensive nuclear deterrence,' the Japanese government commented on the 28th that the North Korea-U.S. denuclearization agreement must be implemented.
According to NHK, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga stated at the regular morning briefing that day, "What is important is that the agreement between the North Korean and U.S. leaders, including North Korea's commitment to the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, is fully and promptly implemented."
He added, "We always have serious interest in North Korea's developments and strive to collect and analyze information, but we refrain from commenting on each detail," while also saying, "Our country (Japan) will continue to support the North Korea-U.S. process."
