New Growth Engine 'Iksan-type Digital and Green New Deal Project' Accelerates
Over 60 Experts and 30 Departments Participate in Relay Meeting Held on the 30th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] Iksan City, Jeonbuk, is set to discover Iksan-type digital and green new deal projects to overcome the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 and proactively respond to the government's Korean New Deal.
On the 28th, the city announced that it would transform the 'Iksan City National Project Discovery Expert Forum,' which was operated to discover new growth engine projects in the region, into an 'Iksan-type New Deal' response system and hold relay meetings where public officials collaborate with policy experts.
Accordingly, following the existing National Project Discovery Expert Forum composed of the ▲Industry Division ▲Culture and Tourism Division ▲Agriculture and Rural Division ▲Regional Development and Infrastructure Division, the city will operate separate tracks such as ▲Agrobiology and Bio Expert Meetings, ▲Iksan-based R&D Institution Council Meetings (tentative name), and ▲Iksan-type Green New Deal Renewable Energy Expert Seminars.
The Iksan-type New Deal Project Discovery Group consists of personnel from national research institutions (Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade, Korea Culture and Tourism Institute, Korea Railroad Research Institute), Jeonbuk provincial institutions (Jeonbuk Research Institute, Jeonbuk Technopark, Jeollabuk-do Bioindustry Promotion Agency, etc.), local industrial support public institutions, university professors in related fields, and experts from private energy companies within the province.
The city plans to hold on-site relay meetings involving about 60 experts for discovering Iksan-type digital and green new deal projects and about 30 public officials from departments such as the Planning and Budget Division, Investment Attraction Division, Job Policy Division, and Policy Development Officer.
In addition, each division will hold meetings such as the R&D Institution Council and Iksan-type Green New Deal Renewable Energy Expert Seminars to discover new items, then concretize detailed projects and project feasibility, actively promoting budget activities for national project implementation.
Furthermore, from the early stages of project discovery, expert groups and project departments will participate together to actively respond to government policies and discover new growth engine projects unique to Iksan City.
Moreover, by discovering large-scale projects that can enhance citizens' perception, the city plans to dynamically promote the 7th term mayoral pledges and combine creative ideas with potential resources to foster regional development.
