LG CNS Provides Free AI English Education Service 'AI Tutor'
AI Analyzes User's Response Time, Grammar, Pronunciation, and Fluency
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] LG CNS announced on the 28th that it will provide its artificial intelligence (AI) English education service 'AI Tutor' free of charge to 1 million users.
AI Tutor is a non-face-to-face foreign language learning service that allows users to study English conversation anytime and anywhere via smartphone, together with AI trained on hundreds of thousands of English sentences. By combining AI-based voice recognition technology and sentence analysis technology, it induces natural conversations between humans and AI. The AI analyzes the user's response time, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, and other factors to assess English proficiency and continues the conversation accordingly. If the user hesitates or gives an answer that does not fit the context, the AI provides hints.
Since the conversation is conducted with an AI teacher rather than a human, users can overcome the nervousness caused by lack of confidence in their English skills and increase their confidence in speaking English. Additionally, there is no need to attend English academies and meet people face-to-face, allowing users to study English without worrying about the spread of COVID-19.
LG CNS collaborated with language specialist company Carat Global to incorporate over 500 diverse English conversation scenarios into AI Tutor, including ordering food, giving directions, hobbies, and meetings with overseas companies. These 500+ contents are classified into 8 levels to enable learning tailored to the user's proficiency. LG CNS plans to use big data of 100 million English sentences expressed by 1 million free learners over a month to further train the AI and create a smarter AI Tutor.
