Extension of 50% Discount Period on Agricultural Machinery Rental Fees in Iksan City
Benefits of 32 million KRW for 1,409 people over 4 months
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Iksan City, Jeonbuk Province, has decided to extend the period of agricultural machinery rental fee reduction benefits to alleviate the difficulties faced by farmers due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
On the 27th, the city announced that the 50% reduction in agricultural machinery rental fees, originally scheduled to last until the end of this month, will be extended for five months until the end of this year.
This measure was prepared to provide practical assistance to farmers who are experiencing double hardships such as labor shortages and sluggish agricultural product sales amid the COVID-19 situation.
The rental fee reduction applies to all farmers in the region and covers all 50 types and 488 units of agricultural machinery rented from the two agricultural machinery rental centers in Hamyeol and Dongbu.
The agricultural machinery rental centers implemented a policy to reduce rental fees by 50% for four months from April 1 to the 31st, benefiting 1,409 people with a total reduction of 32 million KRW.
If this benefit is extended until the end of this year, it is expected to provide benefits exceeding 51 million KRW to about 3,000 farming households, easing their management cost burdens.
