The Women and Youth Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 27th that three individuals who exchanged the document offline have been registered as suspects and are being investigated for the distribution circumstances. Among those registered is a pastor who is known to be close to the victim A’s mother. It is reported that this pastor received the document from A’s mother and passed it on to others. The police have also identified two people who first posted the document online and are investigating the source of the material.
The police are also conducting investigations into secondary harm acts against the victim both online and offline. They have seized servers of four websites where defamatory posts about the victim were uploaded and are working to identify the authors of the posts and comments. The authorities have stated that if secondary harm continues, they will conduct strict investigations.
Additionally, regarding the investigation into allegations of aiding and abetting sexual harassment by the late former Mayor Park, the police summoned about ten employees who worked in the mayor’s secretariat as witnesses to investigate whether they were aware of victim A’s experiences. The police plan to summon related individuals for questioning sequentially this week. Once the witness investigations are completed, they will also investigate those accused of aiding and abetting sexual harassment, including former and current secretariat chiefs.
