The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted on the 27th that heavy rain of 30 to 50 mm per hour will fall mainly on the southern coast and Jeju Island until the morning of the 28th. As of 9 a.m., a heavy rain advisory has been issued for Jeju Island, and heavy rain preliminary warnings have been activated from tonight for some areas in Jeollanam-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Busan. Until recently, most regions nationwide have experienced over 100 mm of rain, with some coastal areas and Gangwon Yeongdong receiving more than 250 mm, so concentrated heavy rain should be carefully monitored, especially in the southern regions.
This rain is expected to continue with varying intensity until the afternoon of the day after tomorrow (29th). The southern regions will see the rain stop by the night of the 29th. Expected precipitation amounts are 50 to 150 mm in Chungbuk and southern regions (with over 200 mm in some coastal areas of Gyeongnam), 30 to 80 mm in Gangwon (excluding northern Yeongseo), Chungnam, and Jeju Island, and 10 to 40 mm in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and northern Yeongseo of Gangwon.
